weatheringteaYesterday a friend helped me move some stuff into a storage unit (I had it in a previous storage unit, but they went out of business and I needed a new one). And just as we got underway, the blizzard struck :'') thanks blizzard, that wasn't fun.
We couldn't figure out how to get around to the back of the building because half of the outside lot was under construction. The snow had covered everything, the lighting was shit, so we accidentally drove somewhere we shouldn't have been and nearly ended up stuck in a swell of mud. After a lot of panic we managed to reverse far enough to get enough momentum to get out @A@;
Actually moving my boxes was fine though lol
We were supposed to go check out a new confectionary store that opened up north of me (selling sweets too cute to eat!), but apparently everything in the city closes at 7 now. I swear the mall at least closed at 8... nope 7. Restaurants were open, so we went to a Japanese restaurant a block or so from the storage place. We thought it was sushi :'') no, it's was all you can eat JP BBQ. We sat down and went "ACH this is expensive..." and neither of us were dressed for a nice restaurant. We didn't know how to politely excuse ourselves from this gaffe, so we just had expensive BBQ. It was actually a really nice dinner. We had no idea what we wanted to eat and the server was excellent helping us figure everything out. I like being able to tip a server well because they gave top tier customer service. It was so nice that we're going to forget about that bill and haul a friend there on our next adventure lol.
Also yesterday I had someone ask me if I knew Flash. My first thought was "... do people still work in Flash?" LMAO. Obv they do or the question wouldn't have been asked XD; but no, I touched Flash once in 2012 and that was enough for me thanks :')

Date: 2022-02-18 07:10 pm (UTC)We're dealing with severe storms since yesterday, they even kept the schools closed, which never happens. My area has been okay so far, but other areas, especially the norhern coast, are dealing with some shit. This night, another massive storm is supposed to hit our area... I still remember in May 2014, when one of the worst storms in recent history hit western Germany. Some of my friends lived in Düsseldorf at the time or had to drive there for work - not a chance on that day, the city lost 30.000 (!) trees.
I hope it doesn't get as bad this time. :/

Date: 2022-03-02 09:13 pm (UTC)I hope you guys fared your storms okay! Snowstorms can be wicked :< I grew up in a city that never closed schools for snow and now I live in one that *does* and my inner child is jealous every time the kids get a snow day lol.
omg the trees! We had a snowstorm after all the trees had leaves once and it was an absolute MESS. When the trees go down, everyone should stay home.

Date: 2022-03-03 06:42 pm (UTC)We never had snow days. :( It's not snowing all that much here - sometimes we have a very cold and snowy winter, but it's rare. And if it happens no-one knows how to drive anymore. XD But snowstorms or something like that don't happen (yet, welcome climate change).
Yep, if a tree can't withstand the weather you know it's bad!
Right now, we've had a row of very nice, sunny days. Not super warm yet and not exactly feeling like spring, because there's a cold eastern wind blowing, but it's still very nice. Took the horse out for a hack yesterday to enjoy the sun. ^_^
